Interests

Favorite Music, Artists, Genres:Classical, Alternative Rock, Opera. My long dormant love of Classical music reignited while researching for my suspense thriller STACCATO. Vivaldi, Prokofiev, Chopin, Beethoven, Bach. My favorite opera at the moment is Salome which I had the pleasure of viewing live at the Santa Fe Opera. On the other end of the spectrum, most of the time I listen to Alternative Rock: Alecia Keys, Annie Lennox, Blue October, Rob Thomas, Cake. I stick with the same one or two CD's until I've written an entire manuscript or short story. Nearly wore out Annie Lennox's "Bare" and Evanescence "Fallen" while composing my latest thriller novel. Puccini was my choice to always have blaring while composing the STACCATO manuscript.
-
Favorite Books, Writers, Genres:Ann-Marie MacDonald's "Where the Crow Flies", Anita Shreve's "Resistance", Pat Conroy's "Beach Music", Loise Erdrich's "The Master Butchers Singing Club", Lisa Gardner's "Hide" and forever and always "To Kill a Mockingbird", Greg Iles, Christopher Reich, Lisa Gardner, John Irving, Ann-Marie MacDonald, Michael Cunningham, Isabel Allende, Michael Chabon, Louise Erdrich, Pat Conroy

Deborah, thank's for the invite. I very much want to participate in the on-line talks on Thursdays. And, I'll do so just as soon as the new episodes of Lost are over! I hate to admit it, but I'm totally hooked. I guess I ought to get TiVo or something so life doesn't have to come to a complete standstill on Thursday nights. But, that's part of the fun, I guess.

Oh no! Well, I loved it! My research sucks right now! LOL. You know how it is, looking for work, taking care of a family, taking a resume' class because no one calls! UGH! Did you say you had other books as well?
I am trying to write a mystery type because I know no one will want this one either. Because...it does not follow a genre' enough.
Have a great day!

OMG! How exciting for you. I am currently researching the Vietnam War. Two of my characters in this next novel will have served there. Years ago, I dated a Vietnam Vet, and there was a wall that I could never get passed. He was adored by many, but he always sabotaged his relationships. And, there was of course the nightmares. The nightmares that we could not discuss. The world that we could not discuss. The prison that his mind lived in...that we could not discuss.

Yes. This can be quite frustrating for the writer. I had a manuscript request in Novemeber for the first 3 chapters, synopsis, etc. It is difficult to wait. The last publisher that requested material never got back to me. This one is an agent I found on agentquery. So you already have published material? well, I am not surprised. I know I want Staccato!

Hi,
How is your story coming? The one you entered into the contest? Have you tried AgentQuery. One of the agents actually answered my query. There appears to be more agents on their going "out on their own." Good luck! Loved your story! I want to read more!
